Frequently asked questions.

I’ve never ridden a horse before, can I come to a lesson?

Absolutely! We accept students of all skill levels, including those who have never been on (or even around) a horse. If you would like to experience horses for the first time, give us a call and take an introductory lesson!

What do I need to wear?

For the rider’s safety, we require smooth soled boots with a substantial heel (western or English are both acceptable). Pants, no shorts, skirts, or dresses please. Jeans, tights, or breeches - that sort of thing. An equestrian helmet for all riders under 18. See our rules and safety page for more information.

Can I stay and brush/pet the horses after my lesson?

Once you’ve gone through a few lessons, and are able to safely do so, absolutely! So long as it doesn’t interfere with other student’s lessons or cause issues.

What is the youngest student you will accept?

We generally accept students as young as 5 years old - though students may be asked to wait a year if they aren’t ready.
