Rules & Safety

Evyeryone’s Favorite!

Barn Rules

  • No Pets

For your pet’s and our animal’s safety, we do not allow pets of any kind. Service animals are welcome with prior approval.

  • No Glass containers

It’s never fun to step on, or pick up, broken glass.

  • No Smoking

No smoking on the property. Thank you!

  • No Running

Running can upset the animals, and the barnyard can be a dangerous place. Loose rock, slick mud, and cats can pose a tripping hazard.

  • Rules Apply to Everyone

Student, parent, or observer. Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior, and are expected to ensure they follow the rules.

  • No Bad Behavior

Bad behavior, abuse to animals or people, back talking, ignoring instructor, screaming or fit throwing will not be tolerated. This is for your safety and for the safety of those around you. Failure to listen to instruction can lead to dangerous situations. Those who cannot manage to behave appropriately will be asked to leave.

  • Clean Up After Your Horse

If it goes on, comes off, or out of your horse, please be courteous and put it where it belongs.

  • No Chasing Cats or Chickens

As fun as it seems for you, they really don’t appreciate it.

  • Cats are Present

They may bite or scratch if provoked. Feel free to pet them, but do so at your own risk.

  • Beware of Electric Fences

Many of the fences are electric. Trust us, it’s not fun to touch them. If you’re not sure a fence is electric, assume it is or ask your instructor.

  • Liability Waiver for All

Every person on the property must sign the liability waiver. Student, Rider, Parent, child, or observer - they all must sign.

  • Your Lesson Ends at the Time Scheduled

Your lesson is for your scheduled time and that time only. We must stick to the schedule so all students are able to ride for their allotted time.

  • Parents Must Accompany Children under 16

Parents must remain on premises the entire time their children (under 16 years of age) are on the property.

  • Appropriate Clothing and Safety Equipment Must Be Worn

Pants, smooth soled boots with substantial heel, and equestrian helmet must be worn by all riders. See equipment section below for more information.

  • Put Equipment Away

Put all equipment away when finished. That includes brushes, halters, tack, buckets, etc.

  • Ranch Courtesy

If a gate is open, leave it open. If it’s closed, leave it closed. If it was chained when you opened it, chain it back - even if you are “just going to grab that bucket”.

Equipment and Things to Think About

Pants

Pants are an important part of riding. We do not allow shorts, skirts, dresses.

Jeans, tights, or equestrian breeches are acceptable.

Boots

Equestrian or riding boots are required for all riders. These boots must have a smooth sole (no or minimal tread) a substantial heel, and cover the ankle. Round or square toes are acceptable, but excessively pointed boots are not allowed.

Helmet

An ASTM/SEI certified equestrian helmet is required for all riders under the age of 18. The helmet must be in date and in good condition.

Things to Think About

  • Sunscreen

We will be outside the entire time.

  • Water and Snacks

We don’t provide these, so please bring your own. Thank you!

  • Mud Containment

You will get dirty/muddy at some point. Bring towels or some place to put muddy clothing and boots.

  • Allergy and Other Medication (epi or insulin!)

We will be outdoors around dust, hay, animals of all sorts, and other allergens. If you have any specific allergy or medical concerns please reach out to us before arriving. We will do our best to accommodate.

  • Weather Appropriate Clothing

Bring jackets, gloves hats for cold weather. Check the weather here before coming, as it often differs from Tulsa.
